As a twenty-one-year-old student living alone in London, Altaf went through a whirlwind of emotions regarding his life in totality—career, friends, love, family, etc. On days when the weather would play truant, he would often find himself locked inside his room, brooding on many things, including what November winds could do to the countryside. This sketch seems to be a visual expression of one such moment of a bare-branched tree in wilderness, wearing the ravages it has suffered at the hands of the tough weather with grace.
