This complex mixed media work presents quite a puzzle—there is an application of paint, crayon and paper/cardboard in no evident form or order. However, the work, signed and dated, does make a statement. The golden EAF on the red band is from a torn box of Gold Leaf cigarettes. The partial letters on red, placed conspicuously, serve as a stark reminder of the allure and branding tactics used by corporations. The surrounding disarray of colour is perhaps an allusion to the senseless pursuit of material comforts.
