Allah Series No. 13

As a printmaker for much of her career, Devayani Krishna abstracted sacred contexts to refer to the faith that was their source. For her, faith implied an inner belief or conviction and was not a sum of rituals. The strength of that belief is manifest in this etching in which the layers and tones appear like chants and imply an internalisation of the sacred that has the power to, quite literally, move mountains.
